Welcome to our Barn!

We are excited to be a part of your riding journey!

What to expect for your first lesson:

  • You’ll get to go out and catch your horse from their natural habitat- the pasture.

  • We will teach you how to halter, ground safety basics, and lead them properly to the barn.

  • You’ll learn about various grooming tools and the order of use, then enjoy brushing them out.

  • You’ll then tack them up with the tack of your preference (English or Western).

  • Finally, you’ll practice those leading basics as we head to the arena for your first ride.

We’ve found that teaching students ground safety and grooming techniques builds a connection with the horse and confidence on the ground, which translates into greater ease and confidence in the saddle.

What you Need:

We only require closed-toed shoes and long pants for your ride. *

*(Dress for the weather, and if it’s chilly, wear layers, since the arena is covered and can be a bit colder in the shade.)

We will provide a helmet and all the necessary tack for your lesson.

I’ve loved riding at
7 Oaks Stables!

“At 7 Oaks, the instruction is much more one-on-one, which I hadn’t experienced before. I can go at my own pace.

When I would get anxious, they helped me work through it instead of rushing or pushing me.

Over time, I’ve become more confident and less anxious—and I even feel confident in the canter, something I hadn’t done in a long time.”

A place you’ll love
coming back to.

From horses grazing out back to the covered arena where you can ride in any light or weather, you’ll love finding your place under the big oaks here at the barn.

The Riders Corner

  • Riding has given me greater confidence than ANYTHING else I've tried!

“Riding has given me a confidence I carry beyond the barn. For the first time in my life, I have a hobby that's just for me, and nothing makes me feel as confident as being on a horse.”

    -Morgan (adult student)

  • I appreciate the tailored approach & teaching towards a goal.

“I appreciate being able to learn and grow at my own pace, and that each lesson is tailored to where I am that day and what I want to learn.”

    -Lesa (adult student)

  • Welcoming & fostering greater growth for me as a rider!

7 Oaks has welcomed me with such open arms and helped me with any questions and curiosity I have.
I’ve loved riding at 7 Oaks because they positively correct my mistakes and teach me how to become a better rider.
